About me

My name is Maria, I'm 23 years old from Florida.
I started my journey "officially" February 15, 2012.
Height: 5'2
Highest & Starting Weight: 212
Current Weight: 153
Goal Weight: I really don't have one, I just want to get to the point where I'm fully confident with my body and I want to be fit and healthy.
A bit about me
I've always had issues with my weight. I was never super overweight, but I was not always at a healthy weight for my height. Slowly, I started to gain from 125 to 212 over the course of 8 years.
At the beginning of this year, it finally dawned on me that I did not want to be in the worst shape of my life in my 20's. These years should be the best years of my life-- health and weight wise. In January 2012, I started eating healthier, but without exercise. I lost 10 lbs within that first month. Mid February I started to incorporate exercise with my healthy eating. I started off doing only cardio. I would walk/jog on my treadmill everyday--started for 30 minutes and eventually went up to an hour. I started following fitblr blogs here on Tumblr around the end of February. I knew just the basics of weightloss, but I wanted to gain more knowledge and incorporate to my lifestyle. Following the fitblr community really helped me get more information and exercise tips. I kept reading about the 30 day shred on quite a few blogs and I googled to see what it was and I decided I was going to do it. I went out and bought myself a yoga mat and 5 lb dumbells and the 30 Day Shred DVD and started the challenge. I finished it in a month and was surprised by the results. I had lost 15 lbs within that month and started to get toned. It motivated me to buy another one of Jillian Michaels workout videos --Ripped in 30. I finished that DVD as well in a month and lost another 13 lbs. I've moved on to her Extreme Shed and Shred and I also alternate between 6 week 6 pack and Killer Buns and Thighs. In total I've lost over 50 lbs since starting in January and all on my own..no fad diets, no pills, binging and purging, nor starving myself. And its motivating me to keep going. I've found a love for health and fitness and I really want keep up with this life style for the rest of my life. I'm in the best shape of my life! And I will continue this! :)

I made this tumblr to keep myself motivated, to motivate others, meeting people who are going through the same journey, to share and learn. :)
